This is an exceptional pair of antique French plinths / display stands dating from the 19th Century. They would be perfect to display a special pair of objets d'art.

The stands are made of carved wood and each sits on 4 sturdy feet. They are beautifully water gilded over plaster. The tops are covered in a sumptuous silk velvet in a gorgeous shade of burgundy.

The water gilding gives off a subtle golden and russet glow.

The plinths are in very good antique condition. There is just the barest hint of wear to the velvet on the edges (please see photos).

Each stand measures :- 25.5 cm (9.9 inches) wide x 13.75 cm (5.4 inches) deep x 4.5 cm (1.75 inches) high.

A fabulous pair of stands to enhance a period display and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
