A017 - SOLD

This is a superb antique French architectural pediment dating from about 1870.

It is made from clay and came from above an oven in a chåteau.

It is extremely decorative and would add an authentic touch to a château chic interior.

The pediment has fabulous scrolls to the crest and shoulders.

Beneath the crest is a beautiful three dimensional shell with acanthus leaf detail and further scrolls.

The paint on the pediment has weathered over the years to a fabulous palette of greys.

The pediment is in excellent condition with just one chip to one of the shoulders.

It is a substantial piece and weighs over 10 kg.

It measures :- W 80 cms X H 40 cms X D 10 cms.

It would be superb incorporated into a building project or above a door or just diplayed on a console table with other architectural treasure.
