This is a sweet antique French repoussé toleware picture frame dating from the 1800's.

It has a sublime flower garland crest. The sides are also decorative and have a raised repousse design.

The gilding on the frame has mellowed in places over the years. Where it remains on the raised toleware howevever, it catches the light beautifully and the contrast is very pleasing.

The frame holds a charming antique photograph of a young boy in a sailor suit clutching his stick and hoop. This could be changed if required.

The frame has a brass plate on the back and there is a sturdy back rest .

The frame is in good condition, the glass intact. It measures 14 cm (5.5 inches) high x 9.25 cm (3.75 inches) wide.

While standing it is 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) deep.
