This is an exquisite antique French embroidered silk shawl dating from the late 1800's / early 1900's. It is very tactile and hangs divinely.

The silk is very fine and is a sublime shade of antique cream. Upon it are hand embroidered flowers and tendrils in stunning colours. The flowers are in shades of coral and pink with saffron yellow centres. The leaf tendrils are a beautiful mint green and their smaller flowers are also in the shades of coral, pink and saffron.

Around the edge of the shawl is a lovely silk tasselled fringe.

The shawl would be gorgeous to wear but would also look fabulous draped across the back of a sofa or chaise.

It is in excellent condition with one or two tiny marks and pulls which you would have to search very hard to find.

The shawl measures 120 cm (47 inches) square without the fringe and the fringe is 8.5 cm (3.5 inches) long.
