This is a cute pair of compact antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They are of a perfect size to hold back a lace curtain or the cords of a rope and tassel hold back. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

The fascia of the hook has a decorative shield shape and this is reflected in the backplate. The gilding on the metal has a gorgeous buttery hue which catches the light beautifully .

The hold backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook.

They are sturdy. One of the fascia has a tiny casting hole which does not affect it's beauty in any way.

Each hold back measures approx :- H 9 cm (3.5 inches) x W 4 cm (1.6 inches) x D 8 cm (3.1 inches).
