B2134 - SOLDThis is a stunning vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating around the mid 1900's. It has a bucolic waterside scene and is after an 18th Century verdure Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home. The scene is a beautiful rural vista with two magnificent trees in the foreground. Behind them is a river with a bridge and a watermill. A château can be seen in the background with a wooded hill behind. All around is a profusion of lush vegetation. The colours are subtle greens, browns and ochres. The tapestry is of excellent quality and is woven in cotton. It is in good vintage condition. There is a curtain tape with hooks on the back of the tapestry for hanging on a rod. The tapestry measures :- 177.5 cm (5 ft 9.8 inches) high x 125 cm (4 ft 1.2 inches ) wide. A fantastic tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room.
