This is a beautiful long vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from  mid 1900's. It has a bucolic rural scene and is after an 18th Century 'Verdure' Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is dominated by a fabulous tree and an architectural folly between which we can see a river with a jetty and a little boat. All around is lush vegetation.

Around this splendour is a sewn border with a scrolled leaf design.

The colours are ochres, greens, browns, teals and blue slightly faded with the passage of time.

The tapestry is woven in cotton. It is in good vintage condition.

It measures :- 168 cm (5 ft 6.1 inches) high x 115 cm (3 ft 9.2 inches) wide.

A fabulous tapestry wall hanging to add a château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
