B2148 - Gorgeous Vintage French Robert Four Woven Wool 'Tapestry' Wall Hanging, 'Idylle'

This gorgeous vintage French, Robert Four of Aubusson, woven wall hanging would certainly add a fabulous château chic finishing touch to a room.

It is of wonderful quality. The textile is a heavy woven wool & linen which hangs beautifully. The scene is entitled 'Idylle' and is after an 18th Century tapestry. It is printed onto the wool by a silkscreen process - the colours and detail are amazing!

At the centre of the scene is a romantic couple by the waterside. They are sitting under a tree with their sheep. All around them is lush vegetation and all is indeed idyllic.

Around this splendour is a lovely floral border.

The colours are stunning shades of greens, browns, teals & ochre.

The wall hanging is in good vintage condition. It has a pocket at the top to take a pole or batten for hanging purposes.

It measures :- 184 cm (6 ft 0.4 inches ) wide x 122 cm (4 ft 0.3 inches) high.
