This fabulous vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging is after an 18th Century verdure Aubusson tapestry and has a bucolic pastoral scene. It dates from the mid 20th Century and is woven in cotton in incredible detail. It is a feast for the eyes and would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch. It would look superb whether hung in a city apartment or a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista. It is dominated by magnificent trees between which we can see mountains in the background. All around is a plethora of lush vegetation.

All this splendour is framed by a decorative border with a leaf design.

The colours are atmospheric greens browns, teals and ochres.

The tapestry is in good vintage condition. It is lined and has metal fixtures on the back for hanging purposes. There is also a sewn pocket to take a pole.

The tapestry measures :- 190 cm (6 ft 2.8 inches) wide x 122 cm (4 ft ) high.
