This is a divine antique French / Italian religious plaster bust of  Notre Dame De Lourdes dating from about 1920.  It was made in Italy but was possibly bought as a souvenir of a pilgrimage to Lourdes. It is very decorative piece and would make a stunning addition to any vintage display.

Our Lady of Lourdes has very striking looks. She has a very pale face and a long elegant neck. Her eyes are hooded and she has a long aquiline nose and pointed chin.

Her attire is classically medieval and drapes beautifully. Her face is framed by a cloth which has an almost Celtic design to the edge.

She is painted in beautiful subtle neutral tones and is a very atmospheric piece.

The bust is mounted on a wooden plinth. This has distressed a little over the years. The plaster of the bust has patinated a little but there are no chips or cracks.

She measures :- H 20 cm (8 inches) x W 17 cm (6.75 inches) x D 10.5 cm (4.25 inches).
