This is a gorgeous antique French toleware paper basket dating from about 1920. It would add a lovely authentic château chic touch to a boudoir.

The toleware is painted a fabulous dark olive green with a subtle crackle glaze finish. To the front there is a beautiful hand painted floral display in soft shades of pink, blue, yellow and cream with a lush green foliage background. On the back there is a tiny yellow pansy tendril.

The bin is sturdy and has good weight. The inside is clean with no corrosion to the metal. On the underside of the bin is a gold foil label with the store name 'MALDORA' and it's PARIS address.

The bin measures 19.5 cm (7.75 inches) high x 20 cm (8 inches) wide x 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) deep.
