B1844 - SOLD

This is a gorgous tiny antique French cupboard / armoire dating from the 19th Century. It is wonderfully decorative and would have been made to hold a figurine of the Virgin Mary. We have photographed it with our own gilded Virgin Mary, B1845, which is listed in our other items.

The cupboard is made in a dark hard wood probably mahogany. It sits on 4 sturdy decorative escargot feet. The front of the armoire is bowed in shape and has a door with a drawer beneath. The top of the door is domed and has a central finial with a similar finial to either side on the body of the armoire. The back of the armoire is also domed to mirror the front.

The drawer has carved flowers and a cute little wooden pull. There is further decorative carving below.

The door has two sturdy hinges and it's original lock and key.

The back of the armoire has a metal fitting so it can hang on a wall as well as be free standing.

The armoire is in excellent antique condition and measures :- 46.5 cm (18.25 inches) high to the top of the finial x 20 cm (7.8 inches) wide x approx. 12 cm (4.75 inches) deep.
The interior measures :- 20 cm (7.8 inches) high x 15 cm (5.8 inches) wide.
