B1872 - Stunning Pair Long Antique French Cotton Curtains / Drapes & Pelmet, Roses Print

This is a stunning pair of antique French textured cotton curtains / drapes and matching pelmet dating around 1930. They are in a gorgeous roses design in a wonderful colour combination.

The textile is of medium weight and hangs beautifully. It has a deep red background with rose vignettes in an unusual colour combination of shades of grey and olive green which look superb against the red background. Around each vignette are interlinking scrolls in dark grey.

The curtains are not lined. They are hemmed to the bottom and sides and have a tape to the top which can be adjusted.

They are clean and in good antique condition. The leading edges have some fading - to a max of 8 cm (3.1 inches) on the left hand curtain and a maximum of 6 cm (2.3 inches) on the right hand curtain but this could of course be hemmed back.

The pelmet is very long and is trimmed with a red bobble passementerie. There are 4 bobbles missing but as it is so long this problem could easily addressed. Perhaps also the pelmet could be used to make a pair of hold backs.

Each curtain measures :- 262 cm (8 ft 7 inches ) long x currently 92 cm (3 ft 0.25 inches) wide at the top and 140 cm (4 ft 7 inches) wide at the bottom.

The pelmet measures :- 294 cm (9 ft 7.75 inches) long x 16 cm (6.3 inches) high including the bobbles.
