This is a delightful antique French Cornely lace pelmet dating from the 1800's. It is in good antique condition, is very long and would be divine incorporated into any number of interior projects. For example around a bed or over a pair of curtains.

The textile is a crisp very fine cotton muslin. The muslin is gently gathered into a tape at the top of the pelmet. The bottom of the pelmet is scalloped and within the scallops is an exquisite floral design with vignettes and tendrils worked in fine chain stitch.

The pelmet is crisp and clean. The muslin is a very pale shade of cream. The pelmet is in excellent antique condition but not surprisingly, considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age there are a few characteristics. There is one tiny speck of a mark, a very pale mark at the top and a two tiny holes (please see photos). These in no way draw the eye from the splendour of this gorgeous antique lace pelmet.

The pelmet measures :- 276 cm (9 ft 0.5 inches) long x 68 cm (2 ft 2.75 inches) high.
