This is an elegant pair of antique French gilded metal curtain tie / hold backs dating from the 1800's. They would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a curtain ensemble.

They are substantial pieces of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The fascia of the hook has a stunning acanthus leaf design with a central faux ribbon tie.

The gilding on the metal has subtly mellowed over the years and even has areas of verdigris. It has a wonderful buttery hue and catches the light beautifully .

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook. There is also a hole to take a screw.

They measure approx :- H 17 cm (6.75 inches) x W 4.5 cm (1.75 inches) x D 15.5 cm (6.1 inches).
