This is a sublime vintage Chinese silk embroidered shawl dating from the mid 20th Century. It would be absolutely gorgeous to wear and would also look fabulous draped across the back of a sofa or chaise.

It has a cream background upon which is embroidered in satin stitch, a fantastic flower and leaf design in stunning shades of turquoise, candy pink, green and lilac. The silk is heavy and hangs divinely.

Around the edge of the shawl is a fabulous long, knotted & tasseled, frothy silk fringe, half in cream and half in vibrant candy pink. The effect is breathtaking!

The shawl is in excellent vintage condition. There are one or two pulled threads here and there and of course the fringe has tousled over the passage of time to achieve it's frothy appearance.

The shawl measures 84 cm (33 inches) square without the fringe. The fringe is 30 cm (11.75 inches) long giving a total size of  144 cm (56.5 inches) square.

This is an exquisite antique Chinese silk, hand embroidered piano shawl dating from the early 1900's. It is very tactile and hangs divinely. The shawl would be gorgeous to wear but would also look fabulous draped across the back of a sofa or chaise.

The silk is very fine and is in a sublime shade of antique cream. It is beautifully hand embroidered across it's entire surface with a gorgeous roses and flowers design in a matching cream silk thread.

Around the edge of the shawl is a fantastic long, knotted and tasseled, frothy silk fringe.

The shawl is in excellent antique condition. We can find just one tiny speck on one of the roses (please see photos). There are one or two pulled threads here and there and of course the fringe has tousled over the passage of time to achieve it's frothy appearance.

The shawl measures 136 cm (53.5 inches) square without the fringe. The fringe is 60 cm (23.5 inches) long giving a total size of  256 cm (100.5 inches) square.

This is an exceptional antique French wasp waisted dressmaker's mannequin dating about 1890. It is of adult size but is very petite and has a tiny 20.25 inch (51.5 cm) waist.

She is very decorative and would be a wonderful addition to a shop diplay or a château chic boudoir interior.

She is in lovely antique condition, has a figure to die for, and oozes style.

Her body is covered in fine linen which has mellowed with the passage of time but is intact, with just one or two tiny areas of wear.

She sits on an adjustable sturdy stand with a turned ebonised wood plinth with 3 legs. There is also ebonised wood to the neck and arms. The wood does show some signs of worm from the past but this is now stable.

The mannequin has the fashionable shape of gowns of the time with a slightly squashed bosom, tiny waist and slightly protruding derriere.

Her vital statistics are :-  Bust 31.5 inches (80 cm), Waist 20.25 inches (51.5 cm), Hips at the very bottom of the mannequin, 39 inches (99 cm).

She measures 12 inches (30.5 cm) across the shoulders.

She will stand between 148 cm (4 ft 10.75 inches) and 173 cm (5 ft 8 inches) high.

The mannequin is sturdy and dismantles for ease of transportation.

This is a beautiful, delicate antique French bridal couronne dating from the early 1900's. It is in lovely condition and could now be incorporated into a modern day bridal veil ensemble.

It is made of 3 rows of tiny wax orange blossom buds. The attention to detail is amazing! To either side is a posy of orange blossom flowers and leaves.

It is impossible to measure but we have photographed it on a 19th Century hat mannequin to guage the size.

This is a fabulous antique French black ostrich feather boa dating from about 1890. It is in excellent condition, is very wearable and extemely glamourous.

The feathers are full and plumptious. At each end of the boa is a gorgeous tassel of silk ribbons. At the top of each tassel are 2 wooden beads. The uppermost bead is covered in silk thread and has a delicate silk mesh overling it. The lower bead is covered with the silk ribbons which are knotted to form the mesh before they cascade down as the tassel. One of the tassels is slightly more plumptious than the other but this does not detract.

The total length of the boa including the tassels is approx. 180 cms (5 ft 11 inches)
The tassels are each approx. 35 cms (13.75 inches) long.

This is a gorgeous antique French ostrich feather boa dating from about 1890. It is in excellent condition, is very wearable and extemely glamourous.

The feathers are full and plumptious and are a delicious corally / rust colour. At each end of the boa is a gorgeous tassel of silk ribbons in a beautiful soft sage green. The colour combination is sublime.

At the top of each tassel are 2 wooden beads. The uppermost bead is covered in silk thread  and the lower bead is covered with the silk ribbons which are knotted to form a mesh before they cascade down as the tassel.

The tassels are also plumptious. The silk on one of the upper beads has a little wear but this does not detract.

The total length of the boa including the tassels is approx. 172 cms (5 ft 7.75 inches)
The tassels are each approx. 37 cms (14.5 inches) long.

This is the most amazing and beautiful antique French silk brocade handbag dating from the early 1900's. It is divine as a bag but if you turn it over you will the see the trade mark ' A LA MARQUISE DE SÉVIGNÉ, CHOCOLAT DE ROYAT, A. ROUZAUD' and that in fact the bag was originally used as a presentation box for high quality chocolates.

'A La Marquise De Sévigné' was the brand name of a company founded by Clémentine and Auguste Rouzaud in 1900. Between 1900 and 1914 the brand was recognized in many stores across France and in the Boulevard de la Madeleine and Place Victor Hugo in Paris.

The chocolates are long gone and the only confection now left is this exquisite bag. It is covered in a gorgeous  silk brocade textile with a roses and flower garland design in subtle shades. The edges and two handles are trimmed with a gold metallic passementerie.

The interior of the bag is lined with a lovely green cotton textile which pulls out to form a drawstring bag. The string is also of gold metallic.

The quality is without a doubt and the chocolates must have been very expensive!

The bag is in excellent condition and extremely useable. There is some minor scuffing to the bottom where it has been set down and one small mark on the pull out drawstring bag, but absolutely nothing to draw the eye.

It measures :- 25 cm (9.75 inches) high x 36 cm (14 inches) wide x 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) deep.

This is a stunning vintage French 'Christian Dior' plaster shop mannequin. She would add a stylish decorative touch to either a vintage or ultra modern home.

Her exquisite head is supported on her hands upon which she wears the most amazing long red gauntlets which bear the 'Christian Dior' logo.

Her face is beautifully painted in fine detail. It is finely boned with high cheekbones. Her wideset eyes are closed and are beautifully maquillaged. She wears her short black hair in a gamine style slicked against her head with the concession of one small curl to the forehead.

We have left her as we found her. She is in good sound vintage condition with just a little distressing to the paint (please see photos) and a few hairline cracks around the facial area.

She measures approx :- 53 cm (20.75 inches) high x 19 cm (7.5 inches) wide x 15 cm ( 6 inches) deep.

This is the most exquisite antique French baby's bonnet which could now perhaps be used for a doll.

It is beautifully made in the most divine shell pink silk. The silk has been meticulously hand ruched in fabulous detail. What sets this bonnet apart from others however, is the gorgeous, softly curling feather trim which would frame a baby's face to perfection.

The  bonnet has two silk ribbons. On the left hand side where the ribbon joins the bonnet are 4 tiny ribbon roses. On the other side is a larger ribbon rose. At the front of the bonnet are further tiny ribbon roses and at the back is a little pink bow.

The bonnet is made in extraordinary detail and must have been made for a much loved baby. The pink silk and feathers are in good antique condition. There is some fatigue to the silk lining (please see photos) and the ribbons were possibly once longer.

The bonnet is very difficult to measure so we have included a photo with a tape measure to give a sense of scale.

This leather suitcase is of exceptional quality.

The handle is in perfect condition and the slide catches work perfectly.

It was made in Calcutta by Morrison and Cottle Ltd. It still retains some of it's original labels including The Hotel Magestic, Bombay and various Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O) Baggage Stickers .

Inside it is lined with moiré silk and has a leather lift out section which has slots for brushes and other grooming equipment, this is removable and acts as a vanity stand - See Photo's.

This is a sublime antique French pillow purse /evening bag dating from the 1920's.

The purse is in the shape of a pillow and is made from brass with an attractive repoussé design. Around the centre of the purse is a copper band to which is attached the hinge and clasp. The hinge and clasp are made from brass in a filigree design and are both in perfect working order.

The lid of the purse opens to reveal a sumptuous purple plush interior.

The purse hangs on a brass chain.

The brass and copper of the purse has mellowed over the years to an antique hue which suits it perfectly. It would however polish to a shiny finish if required.

The purse measures 18 cm (7 inches) wide x 13 cm (5 inches) high x 7.5 cm (3 inches) deep. The apex of the chain when held is 43 cm (17 inches) above the top of the purse.

This is a beautiful antique French bridal couronne / tiara with it's original box. It is in lovely condition and is very wearable.

It has 5 gorgeous white organza flowers with anther cluster centres. The organza flowers are interspersed with wax orange blossom flowers and tiny wispy feathers. All these are sewn with silk on to a narrow band and there is an elasticated section to go round the back of the head.

The box is pale turquoise in colour and decorated in gold and white with flowers. It has the words 'Nos Parures de Mariées' written in gold across the top.

The central flower on the tiara is about 9 cm (3.5 inches) high including it's leaf.
The elasticated section allows it to fit all sizes.
The box measures 31.5 cm (12.5 inches) wide x 23 cm (9 inches) deep x 5.75 cm (2.3 inches) high.

This beautiful tiara would make the perfect 'Something Old' for a bride's outfit or could just be kept and treasured for it's beauty.

It is a substantial piece with a large sturdy base. It is beautifully made from turned wood. The wood is mahogany and has a fabulous rich mid brown colour.

This is a beautiful antique French wedding couronne, bridal tiara dating from about 1900.

Onto a silk bound wire band are attached gorgeous wax flowers with tiny little stamens. The 'leaves' of these are made from silver thread wire loops with tulle covered wax paper interiors. The tiara has survived the years in good condition with just some frothing of the tulle.

The tiara is extremely light in weight and would be very comfortable to wear. It could be sewn on to a veil or incorporated into a hair style for a big day. It can be held in place by placing the adjustable wire loop under the hair at the back of the head.

The tiara would fit most female heads and  the front of it would be 6 cm (2.3 inches) high when worn.

This beautiful tiara would make the perfect 'Something Old' for any wedding or could just be kept and treasured for it's beauty.
